A sad goodbye...

Yesterday, we said our sad goodbyes to Lily Puff. Here she is waiting patiently for her new family...I didn't realize how hard it would be until we walked away. That's when the tears started flowing. I still get sad when I think about her and I'm going to miss her a lot. However, she's going to be much happier now that she won't be stuck in her cage all day long.

Lily Puff was adopted by a sweet family in our ward, The Fishbeins, where she'll get plenty of love and attention, especially from Sage (their daughter). We're so happy and comforted to know that she'll be well taken care of. Thank you Fishbeins!

Big spender!

Today I splurged and bought myself a new set of golf clubs! I'm so glad I had some "fun" money saved up for occasions like this... I was planning on getting a used set but there weren't any that were cheap &/or good enough. I'm glad it didn't work out though because I ended up getting a good deal from Costco. I got everything I need (plus more) for only $200! Now I'm definitely ready for my first golf lesson next week and I can't wait!
Next on my list, a new camera. But before I buy one, I'm going to do some research to make sure I'm getting a good camera for a good price. Any suggestions?

Fourth of July

I just love holidays, and the 4th of July has always been one of my favorites. Today was no exception, we had a great day! This morning we made a yummy breakfast. French toast (my favorite), sausage and hash browns. Then I made one of our favorite desserts - red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting. And coincidentally, they're very festive! I tried to make them even more festive by honing in on my creativeness. Which didn't work out as well as I hoped...Oh well, at least they tasted good. That's all that really counts!

Later on, we went golfing for my first time. I lost a few balls and took more than a few mulligans, but we had a great time!

We also got to enjoy some wildlife. We saw rabbitsand squirrelsand geese, oh my!We also enjoyed some beautiful views. For dinner, we had a little barbecue for just the two of us. We were planning on going to see the fireworks at the park right down the street, but we missed them. I wasn't sure what time they started but soon realized we were too late once we heard them going off. I'm pretty bummed out. It just doesn't seem like the 4th of July without fireworks. Oh well, it was a great day!

Idiot

Who? That would be ME. Stupid, dim-witted, brainless, daft. Take your pick. They all fit the bill. Especially for someone who makes careless, idiotic choices without thinking. Which is exactly what I did when I chose to put my perfectly good camera at the bottom of my (super cute) hobo bag. And this is what came of it... Honestly. Who is stupid enough to do that? I'm just so angry with myself. I don't know whether to break something or cry my eyes out. My hubby bought me that camera for our first Christmas and now it's ruined. Fortunately, it still takes pictures. But the digital part (which is obviously the best part) is a goner. Jeremy, always the optimist, said, "Look at it this way, now you'll get to buy an even better one!" Along with, "Don't be so hard on yourself. Everyone makes mistakes." He's such a sweetheart. I don't know how I got so lucky. Anyway, I'm just glad I have some "fun" money saved up. Although I'd rather not spend it on a new camera when the one I have was working perfectly fine. Sigh.
On a another (more happy) note, I finally convinced Jeremy to give Twilight a try. He was skeptical at first, and he won't admit to this, but he can't put it down! He even stayed up late last night to read it. (Which is funny to me, because he would get so frustrated when I'd stay up late to read it.) For those of you who haven't read it -- do yourself a favor and pick up the books. You are missing out on something amazing.

Finals already!

One reason I love the summer semester is because it goes by so quick! My six week classes are already coming to an end. I just finished my first final (yay!) and after one more on Thursday, I'll be school-free for seven weeks! (Not counting my golf class, since that's fun!) Now I need to get me one of these. . . so I can really enjoy my summer! Especially in the sweltering heat we've been having. It's almost unbearable.

It's hard to believe, but at the end of this year (which seems like forever to me) I'll be done with school for good! Unless I decide to get my BSN or MSN later on down the road, (and I mean way later on) but I won't get into that. For now, anyway.
