I finally caved...

As previously noted, Jeremy and I have been tossing around the idea of giving our bunnies away. I wasn't too happy with the idea, but seeing that we don't spend much time with them anymore, it's probably for the best. Despite this rationale, I just can't part with Mr. Wilson. We've had him for almost two years now, and it would be too sad to see him go. I know it's silly, but I even pictured him being around when we have kids. When we got Lily Puff, I think we bit off a little more than we can chew. Anyway, she's up for grabs if anyone is interested. She'd come with everything you need and most importantly, for free. And she is pretty darn cute . . .

Just to clear the air. . .

We do care about Lily Puff (contrary to the belief of someone named Anonymous) and we're sad to see her go. We're not thoughtless, cruel, animal-haters. The reason we decided to give her away is because we've had to keep her in her cage all day because of the situation with Mr. Wilson, and we don't feel like that's right. We're going to find her a good home that will give her the love and attention that we couldn't. I didn't want it to come to this but it is for the best and she will definitely be missed.

magic shoes

The past couple times Jeremy and I have gone to the driving range, I haven't been doing so great. And if you know me, you know I get discouraged really easily. I was on the verge of throwing in the towel, until today. Because today we went to the golf store and I found me some super cute shoes. I obviously couldn't wait to try them out, so we hurried over to the driving range and I couldn't believe how good I was doing. I'm almost positive they're magic. Or at the very least gave me my groove back. Either way, I'm happy. And now I'm all set for my golf class that starts in a couple weeks. I'm so excited! Next on my list:
and
(It matches my shoes!)

bookworm

noun. One who spends much time reading or studying.I think that might be putting it lightly. . .
Lately, (ever since my spring semester ended, leaving me with spare time!) I haven't been able to keep my nose out of a book. I absolutely love reading, and if the book is good enough, I immerse myself in it and can't put it down - neglecting all other responsibilities. That doesn't sound very healthy does it? Well, it may not be, but it's my way of relieving some stress. When I'm reading, I don't have a care in the world. And I like that.
What's one (or two, three, or four) of your favorite books? I'm always looking for good suggestions!

SYTYCD Top 16 (in the studio!)

(I can blog about my favorites early this week because we were there!!!)

On Monday, my sister Simone and I went to the taping of SYTYCD! She flew in from Utah (thanks again, Dad!) for a quick two days just for the show! We had an awesome time!

Getting all dolled up for the big show!

LA, here we come!

While we were driving up Beverly Blvd to the CBS studios, we spotted a restaurant that was shown on 'The Hills' called Lulu's Cafe. We decided to stop and have lunch there. It was really good!

After lunch we went down the street to The Milk Shop (also seen on The Hills)

and got a yummy fruit smoothie! They had so many desserts that all looked so good.

While waiting in line (on the sidewalk, in 95 degree weather, for two hours) we met some really sweet girls, Jessie and Amy. We also met Dane, who was trying to bum some extra tickets off people in line. (Simone has that picture on her blog.) We had two extras, so we let him tag along. Surprisingly, he was from Utah and knew a few people on the show. It was fun to meet some new people while we were there. They were all really nice and made the time go by faster!

Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures from inside the studio because you can't take anything in. But hopefully you'll be able to catch a glimpse of us on the show tonight. We were in the pit, near the center of the stage, three rows back. Look for Simone's bright blue shirt and my bright pink shirt. It's a long shot, but who knows! Anyway, the show was great and it was really fun to see it all in person. My favorites were the last two dances - Chelsie & Mark and Joshua & Katee. They were both awesome but I won't give you any details because I don't want to spoil it for you! Thanks for coming Simone, I had such a great time!

Twilight Saga

I finally finished the rest of the books last night. As I expected - they were amazing. I'm sad that I'm done but I couldn't stop reading because I had to find out what was going to happen. I can't wait for August 2nd when the new book comes out. I'm so excited, I'll probably have to go pick it up at midnight and read it all night! Since I bought Eclipse just recently, it was a special addition copy that included a couple extras in the back - the first chapter of Breaking Dawn and Iron-ons for Team Edward and Team Jacob. I'm definitely on Team Edward. I like Jacob too, but it's just not the same. He'll always be second best. Which team are you on?

SYTYCD Top 18

(Yes, I plan to do this each week!)

I just watched the performances last night (since I was preoccupied with Twilight) and it was amazing, as usual. I had two favorites this week:
Twitch and Kheringtonand

Courtney and Gev

They were incredible.

And. . . .

I have some spectacular news! While I was watching the show last night, I took a break to move the laundry along, checked my email and what did I find? TICKETS TO SYTYCD!!!! I was freaking out, to say the least. So with some rearranging of my work schedule (thanks to Camille) and the HUGE generosity of my Dad, my sister Simone is flying in (Megan's not going to be able to make it and she'll definitely be missed) and we're going to the taping of the performance episode on Monday! Can you believe it? I can't! I'm so excited I can hardly stand it. It's going to be so fun! Hopefully we'll get a great spot in the audience and get on camera a lot so you can see us! Wish us luck!

Stephenie Meyer is a genius.

I finished twilight last night and it was better than words can describe. I couldn't read fast enough, yet I didn't want it to be over. I was so sad when I turned the page and saw that I was near the end, it almost brought me to tears. I was completely enthralled while reading, even giddy at times. Now I can't stop thinking about it. I'm pretty sure I'm obsessed. I was planning on waiting to get the next book from the library as well, but there is no way I can wait. I'm running (literally - I have no car today) to Barnes and Noble as soon as they open (which isn't soon enough) to buy all three books, and pre-order the next one. Yeah, I'm definitely obsessed. What am I going to do when I'm finished with all of them? And Breaking Dawn isn't going to be the final book, is it? I really don't want it to end. And why is Edward so darn stubborn? Just give Bella what she wants! Oh, and I just watched the trailer again (which I thought looked good before I read the book) and it's ALL wrong! Just watching the preview infuriates me because in those few seconds, the story line is totally different. And there is another clip on the website of the"ballet scene" and it is COMPLETELY wrong. I can't imagine how horribly wrong the entire movie will be. And please don't get me started on who they chose for the cast, especially Edward. Are you kidding me?
Is anyone else as frustrated as I am?

TEST RESULTS

Before I tell you what score I got on my midterm, I have to give you some background info...

This class, Growth and Development (G&D), is somewhat of a repeat. When I first got into the program, there was an option of either taking Psych 7 or G&D. So I opted for the Psych 7 class online. Soon after I finished the class, I found out it was no longer accepted and that I had to take G&D in order to graduate. Which brings me here. Grudgingly taking somewhat of a repeat. Also, a good portion of the class has a lot of things I learned last semester in Pediatrics. That's probably one of the reasons that contributed to my lack of motivation to study... Anyway, I ended up studying for about another hour for the midterm (I basically just read through my notes once), meanwhile still not caring about getting an A. And I have to say that it was actually really nice. There was no pressure, which means no worrying, no stomach aches, nothing. It was wonderful. So, when I checked my score last night, I actually laughed out loud. I got a 48/50. But the only reason I did so well is because I already knew the majority of the information. This method of briefly reading my notes over once would not normally work out in my favor. Either way, I'm happy I did well. I think from now on I'll try my best to do well in my classes, while trying not to put too much pressure on myself. If I don't get an A, it won't make me any less of a person and it definitely won't be the end of the world. Right?

I need help

because I have a major problem... Ever since my 4.0 was ruined last semester, by ONE point, I have zero motivation to study or strive to get any more A's. (If you have no idea what I'm talking about click here and here. Scroll down to the bottom for the second one.)
I have a midterm today and I am so not ready. You may be thinking, 'oh she's just exaggerating...' Nope. So far I've only studied for an hour and a half. (And I should be studying right now.) The problem is: I just don't care. Why should I try for an A if I don't have a 4.0 anymore? I don't see the point. All I need to pass is a C and that's good enough for me. Jeremy, on the other hand, was trying his hardest to motivate me last night. It was really nice of him to be encouraging and all, but in the end it didn't do much. The fire inside has officially burned out. And all because of one point, I might add. (Yes, I'm bitter.)

Nathan and Becky's Visit

Last night, Jeremy's brother Nathan and his girlfriend Becky came over for dinner. Then for dessert, we had some yummy chocolate fondue. Since it was our first time doing chocolate fondue, they were our guinea pigs. Lucky for them, it turned out good!We were so happy to finally meet Becky. (They've been dating for quite a while and we were the last ones to meet her.) She is such a sweet girl and we had a great time with both of them. We really enjoy when family comes to visit. (wink, wink)
Thanks for coming, Nathan and Becky! Come visit us again soon, you're always welcome. (And that goes for everyone!)

SYTYCD Top 20

So I'm a little late in the game. I finally just got the chance to watch it. And it definitely didn't disappoint. My favorite performance was the hip hop dance with Joshua and Katee to 'No Air.' (The dance was about him going off to war the next day.) I loved it so much that I even rewound it for an encore. If you missed it you can watch it here:

Just beautiful. I can't wait for next week!

drama

Yesterday morning started out as a normal work day. I fed the boys breakfast and cleaned them up. While I was washing the dishes, one of the boys started doing something really cute. And usually when that happens I reach for whatever is in arms reach to record a video. Which happened to be my cell phone in my back pocket. So, without thinking, I used my wet hands to pull out my phone and it slipped and fell in the sink, in a little puddle of water. (Luckily it wasn't more than that.) I gasped as my sweet little phone's life flashed before my eyes. I grabbed it out of the water as fast as I could, frantically drying it off and praying it wasn't gone forever. (You see, I have MANY pictures and videos on that phone and I was scared they would be lost forever.) So, after drying it off, I was beginning to think there was no hope because the buttons weren't working and at one point my phone wouldn't even turn on. I was so depressed. However, later on that day it turned back on! And then later on that night the buttons started working again! And today you would never even know anything had happened! I am so happy, and so grateful! My little phone is such a trooper! I normally wouldn't blog about something as trivial as this, but frankly I don't have much else going on right now... Other than the fact that I'm worried sick about the Relief Society lesson I have to give on Sunday. Ugh.

take me out to the ball game

take me out with the crowd
buy me some peanuts and cracker jack
I don't care if we never get back;

let me root, root, root for the home teamif they don't win it's a shame; for it's
one
two
threestrikes you're out at the old ball game!

Through Jeremy's generous work, we were able to go to an Angel's game! We had awesome seats, with a great view from the 16th row! Obviously, we had to get a hot dog. And yes, they were delicious! And we couldn't pass up a yummy sundae in an Angel's souvenir baseball cup! We had great company with Logan and his date, Jaime.

We enjoyed fireworks when the Angel's had a home run and at the end of the game, when they won! After we got home, I obviously had to try the little baseball hat on the bunnies! (Would you expect anything less?) It didn't work out as well as I hoped but it's still cute!

(Poor little bunnies! Please don't call PETA on us!)

We had a great time at the game and I hope we can go again soon!

Job Benefits

Most people have employee benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, retirement, etc... Those are all great, but I think mine are the best. Case in point:

hugs from Braedon and...

(blown) kisses from Asher!

See what I mean? I'm lucky, I know.

For more cuteness, click here.

p.s. sorry about the videography... I need to improve on my one-handed camera work.

best hubby ever!

While painting my fingernails today I found myself in quite the predicament (since I'm not ambidextrous) but my sweet hubby was kind enough to help me out...I wasn't really serious when I asked for the favor but he surprisingly obliged! I'm confident that I have the best hubby ever. How did I get so lucky?

photoshop fun

My brother Tyson has many talents. And one of my favorites has to be his amazing photoshop skills. He asked me to send him a picture and this is what I got in return:
This first one, with me as a gargoyle, is pretty sweet. Wouldn't you agree?
Jeremy was nice enough to point out the goatee.
The next one is very insightful.

And, it explains everything...

Thanks for the fun Tyson!

a necessary evil

I don't know about you, but I absolutely despise cleaning.
Kind of like this lady:but much, much worse.
I just can't stand it. And it will definitely get worse once we have kids. I do enjoy when things are clean and organized, I just wish I didn't have to be the one to do it. If only we could afford a housekeeper. That would be a dream come true. Maybe someday it will happen . . . .

SYTYCD

(Acronym for So You Think You Can Dance, for those of you who don't know.)
I was thoroughly enjoying myself last night. Those dancers are unbelievably AMAZING. I'm so glad they didn't drag out the auditions like they do on American Idol. And now that we have our Top 20, the fun part begins! If you know me, you know I used to dance and miss it like crazy. So watching the show is kind of bittersweet for me. I love it so much but it makes me miss dancing that much more... I guess you could say I'm living vicariously through those dancers because it would be a dream come true if I could do what they do.

Re-Tag!

As you may recall, a couple months ago I was tagged by Tracie. I fulfilled my taggee responsibilities (click HERE to see it) and then tagged Kristy. Well, come to find out, Kristy is anti-tag. So I've decided to keep the fun going and do a re-tag. So, without further ado, I tag.... Megan! Have fun, Meeg! And don't forget to tag someone at the end!

too cute for words

I have a blogger-friend, Christie, who is super funny and creative. This is her most recent work...

She is so talented! I wish I had kids so I could have one done. She's looking for extra practice if anyone is interested. Just click HERE to go to her blog for the details.

FYI

To the fam:

Just wanted to let you know that I started a blog for Nathan. He doesn't really want it, so who knows if he'll ever use it, but it's there. Now all eight of us have blogs! Yay!

Here's his blog address: http://nathansoffe.blogspot.com/

I sure hope he changes his mind and uses it because I know it would be fun to read. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

blah...

is the only way to describe how I feel today. I woke up this morning with a horrible headache and an icky feeling all over. I wish I could have stayed in bed and slept all day but I have school... I can't wait for 5 o'clock to come so I can go home and curl up in our comfy bed... Hopefully tomorrow won't be so blah.

procrastinator

Ever since I can remember, I've been a procrastinator. I always put off what needs to be done in favor of what I want to do at the time. It always comes back to bite me in the end, turning me into an emotional mess, but I just can't seem to learn my lesson. Jeremy is a good example of the very opposite of procrastination. He always tells me that work should come before play, but that concept just doesn't seem to sink in. I tried to part ways with my bad habit during my first semester of nursing school. It worked great for a while but then I slowly and surely returned back to my old ways. I don't like being a procrastrinator, or the way it makes me feel. The anxiety and dread that makes my stomach cringe as I realize what I've done... You'd think that I would have learned by now, but no. I just hope it doesn't take too much longer before I do. I wonder if there is such a thing as Procrastinators Anonymous... If so, sign me up!

made for each other

So grateful. So in love. So blessed. "Marriage is for time and eternity. This kind of love never tires or wanes, but lives through sickness and sorrow, poverty and privation, accomplishment and disappointment, time and eternity."
Spencer W. Kimball
