I fell off the wagon today...

About a month ago I decided that I wanted to lose some weight. A month later I have lost 12 lbs and several inches off my waist. It feels good. However, it has taken great discipline to limit my calorie intake to about 1200 calories a day. I have tried to make some lifestyle changes such as eating foods high in fiber and low in saturated fats. I have learned how to make healthier food choices even when I eat out.

Despite the great progress, I totally fell off the wagon tonight. When I got home from work my wife tempted me with the idea of going for a burger. To this point I have been extremely resilient at withstanding these temptations. However, tonight I guess I was just feeling weak and we went to Fuddruckers (my favorite hamburger joint). It has been over a month since I have had a hamburger and this hamburger was probably the best I have ever had. I have never tasted food so delicious. I have to tell you, after enjoying a burger, fries and a shake, I don’t know if I can get back on the wagon! I have missed real food so much. It is amazing how a delicious meal can make you feel so good. Well, hopefully I will have the strength to keep eating healthy. Let’s see if I can make it another month without a burger…

Every so often we must treat ourselves. 12 lbs is pretty amazing. Hard work deserves a reward! I think you earned it.

Just remember moderation in all things..... A burger every once in a while just helps to get through life. We all need those things in life to look forward to. Like a BIG piece of cheesecake, oh no, now you got me falling off the wagon, except for I was never on it.

Don't be too hard on yourself! Pat yourself on the back for the 12 pounds that you lost! That is really super! As long as you don't have a third nipple, eating a hamburger once in a while is nothing to feel bad about.

I have never been to Fuddruckers. I really like Fat Burger and IN-N-Out. I really think Fat Burger is the best but for the price you can't beat in-n-out. I also been on a diet. I have been running more and eating more salad. It seems to be working in my case.. I will need to start lifting weights soon though.
