Today was the first day of my golf class. I was really excited to go and learn some new things and improve my game. However, it wasn't exactly what I expected. You see, I signed up for Beginning Golf II, which is described as: "Progression of beginning skills, strategy and individual stroke analysis." Which I didn't really get. They group the Beginning Golf I & II classes together, so today was really basic - how to grip the club, stance, swing, etc. Basically everything I already knew. There were a couple new things that I learned. But when I tried to implement these new techniques, I couldn't quite get it right, so I asked "Coach" for help and I got nada. zip. zilch. He mentioned something about my back swing, and when I asked how to fix it, he said he didn't want to get into that yet. Excuse me? Then what am I doing here, wasting my time and money? And on top of that, we have to pay for a $4 bucket of balls at each class. That adds up quick for a class that meets twice a week. And at the end of the semester, we're playing 9 holes as a final. Which we have to pay for. I've never had to pay for a final before. That's just dumb. Why aren't these things covered in the cost of the class? What a rip off. As you can clearly see, I'm bitter and disappointed (to say the least). Anyway, I sure hope it gets better in the upcoming weeks because I really want to get better and actually be able to play a game of golf. Is that too much to ask? I don't think so.
On a more optimistic note, I guess this isn't the worst place to take a final exam...
sigh.

sigh.

I think it is great you are trying this. I found that is stressed me out even more every time I played. I had to do something different. Because I couldn't do it perfectly, I really didn't want to do it at all. This reminds me of my senior year in college. I took pistol marksmanship for an elective credit. I begged my mom to take it with me because it was at night. She is also a really good shot. I had to cheat and have her shoot my targets because I couldn't shoot well enough to save my life. If it were not for here I would have failed! Good Luck
