I went to the courthouse today for Jury Duty. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. I didn't have to wait around for very long because they called my name right away. I got as far as the jury box and then the lawyers decided they didn't want me after they asked all their questions. Now I'm safe for the next twelve months.
But I have some questions for the next time I get one of those dreaded letters. There were so many prospective jurors there today... would they really notice if I didn't show up? How well do they track those Jury Summons? What if it got lost in the mail and I never got it? Would I get thrown in jail? Does anyone have the answers to these questions?

that's weird they call you to come in then decide they don't want you... what a waste of time! Maybe they should just get whoever wants to come in who has time, ya know? Sorry I don't know what happens if it gets lost in the mail, and whether or not you can go to jail, but it doesn't like it'd be a big deal if it did.... it's just jury duty!!!!
I got called on jury duty last year but I didn't get as far as you did. I thought it might be kind of fun to be in on the whole jury thing. Oh well...
You'd get a warrent out for your arrest, but once you explain that you lost it or something they'd take it off your record.
I was supeonaed in Virginia the month before I moved to San Diego, and then in SD two weeks before I moved to Fresno. I'm crossing my fingers hoping Fresno will forget I'm here.
next time, Be Breastfeeding, it was so easy to get out of it. All i did was fill out the slip they sent me and i was out! YIPPIE!! although someday i look forward to being on jury duty, kinda interesting.
